A long-standing land dispute spanning several years between Krocha Khel and Pohena Khel at Khatruru/Pronizha in Zhavame village, reached an amicable settlement on February 21 at Zhavame Council Hall. The final settlement of the land dispute was resolved through the mediation of a Good Will Mission, constituted earlier by the Zhavame Village Council comprising of Vivotso Domeh as Convenor, Darhu Shupao as Member Secretary, and Mosonyi Domeh, Deo Movi, Reo Dukru, and Sarhunyi Stephen Dukru as members.
As an outcome of the mission for amicable and peaceful resolution, an agreement was made following a series of meetings with both the khels during which, both the parties participated in the deliberations in good faith and expressed their willingness to resolve the dispute peacefully and permanently.
According to a press release issued by the Good Will Mission, an Agreement was signed by its members and witnessed by Zao Krocha, Chairman, Zhavame Village Council and Sanyi Shupao, Head GB, and N. Andrew Krocha for Krocha Khel and Sokho Pohena, Chairman for Pohena Khel respectively.
In the spirit of reconciliation, mutual understanding and faith, it has agreed and resolved that Krocha Khel “voluntarily relinquishes and transfers all its rights, claims, interests, and title over the entire disputed land at Khatruru/Pronizha in favour of Pohena Khel.”

Accordingly, it stated that, “the entire disputed land shall henceforth belong to and be exclusively owned and possessed by Pohena Khel without any claim, interference, or objection from Krocha Khel.”
Further, in view of the prior decisions rendered by the ADC Court in favour of Krocha Khel and
by the Chief Judge, Regional Court Chakhesang Region, GPRN, in favour of Pohena Khel, and with the intervention of the Good Will Mission, both the parties have also mutually agreed that this settlement is final, binding, and conclusive upon them and their successors.
“No further dispute, claim, objection, or legal proceeding shall be initiated by either party in respect of the said land before any court, authority, council, or forum hereafter”, it added.
