Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has expressed shock and grief at the untimely demise of former MLA of 29th Jangpetkong Assembly Consituency, Dr Longrineken on March 7.
In a condolence message, Rio stated that Dr Longri was a gentle and kind person, a sincere leader who carried responsibilities with humility and dedication. He recalled the years when they worked together and expressed that Dr Longri’s passing is a great loss to all.
Stating that the Ao community in general and Khar village in particular have lost a respected leader and mentor, Rio said the void left by his absence would be deeply felt.
He and his family extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
It may be mentioned that the late Dr Longri was a two-time NLA member, first elected to the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 29-Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency.
He held several important responsibilities in the government, serving as Advisor and Parliamentary Secretary of various departments, and was later re-elected to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, where he served as Advisor for Law & Justice.
Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton also expressed shock and grief at the demise of Dr Longriniken. In a condolence message, Patton said that Dr Longrineken’s dedication to public service has left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Stating that his legacy of commitment and simplicity would continue to inspire, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed condolences to Dr Longrineken’s family.

BJP Nagaland also expressed grief at the passing of Dr Longrineken and said that he was a respected leader and a committed public servant who dedicated his life to the welfare and progress of the people.
The BJP Nagaland acknowledged his invaluable service to the party and his enduring legacy in public life. Stating that his demise is a great loss not only to his family but also to the people of the state who benefited from his leadership and vision, the BJP Nagaland extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones.
NPP Nagaland:
National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland State Unit has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Dr. Longri Ao, former MLA and Advisor from 29 Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency, who passed away in Dimapur.
In a condolence message, State President of NPP Nagaland, A Nyamnyei Konyak, expressed profound grief and described the late Dr Longri Ao as a committed and dedicated public servant who served the people with sincerity and humility. He stated that Dr. Ao’s contributions towards the welfare and development of the people of Nagaland will always be remembered.
Meanwhile, K James Vizo, Vice President & Chief Spokesperson of NPP Nagaland, also expressed sadness over the passing of the veteran leader. Having had the opportunity to work together in the same party in the past, he recalled that the late Dr. Longri Ao was known for his humility, simplicity, and friendly nature.
He further stated that Dr. Ao’s demise is a great loss not only to the people of his constituency but also to the state as a whole.
The party leadership and rank-and-file of NPP Nagaland also extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, friends, and well-wishers during this difficult time. The party also prayed that the Almighty grant strength and comfort to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
