The Department of Food & Civil Supplies has informed all consumers that there is sufficient domestic LPG stock available in the market and there is no shortage in Nagaland.
The Department had a review meeting to take stock of the current situation on the availability of LPG and other petroleum products in the state today, which was attended by the Deputy Commissioners of Kohima, Dimapur, Chumoukedima, Department of F&CS and representatives from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
The Department has urged all consumers not to panic or indulge in unnecessary hoarding of domestic LPG creating artificial scarcity.
It also cautioned all Distributors, Retailers, and Individuals that black marketing, over pricing or unauthorized sale of domestic LPG is illegal and punishable under relevant provisions of law. Strict action would be initiated against any person or entity found involved in such activities, it said.

The Department further sought cooperation of all the public to maintain orderly distribution and follow the norms laid out. This is also to sensitize the public that booking of Domestic LPG is done purely through digital booking system and delivery is done through Delivery Authentication Code (DAC). Booking is allowed after a gap of 25 (twenty five) days. This measure is put in place to avoid hoarding & other ill practices and ensure smooth & fair distribution to all consumers.
