The State-Level Unique Identification Implementation Committee (UIDIC) meeting for 2026 was held on April 17 at Kohima, Nagaland. The meeting was chaired by Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Principal Secretary, Home Department, Government of Nagaland and attended by Ngachan Zimik, DDG, Col. Abhishek Koushik, Director, UIDAI Regional Office Guwahati along with senior officials from Government of Nagaland.
Senior State Government officials from Commissioner, Nagaland office (Nodal Department), Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Food & Civil Supplies, India Post, CSC and officials from Lead Bank, Nagaland also attended the meeting. DDG, UIDAI RO Guwahati delivered the presentation along with Col. Abhishek Koushik, Director (RO Guwahati).

The following points were discussed in detail during the course of the presentation: Aadhaar, its key features and benefits; Features of new Aadhaar App and OVSE (Offline Verification Seeking Entity) registration process; Accelerating Aadhaar enrolment for children (0–5 years) through Birth Registration Based Aadhaar Enrolment (BRBAE) at District Hospitals & health facilities using Birth Registration No.(BRN); Improving Aadhaar enrolment in low-saturation districts; Identify the cause and bridge the gap between the numbers of overall Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) pendency vs the number of students enrolled in UDISE+ Portal; Conducting Mission Mode Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) camps in schools; Digitisation of Birth Registration, conversion of non-digitised POI (Proof of Identity/POA (Proof of Address) documents issued by State Govt.; Adoption of Aadhaar Seeding and Authentication for delivering state-sponsored schemes enabling DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) through Aadhaar; Sharing of deceased data with UIDAI .
Zimik, DDG, UIDAI RO Guwahati also informed that a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra is being established in Dimapur and is likely to be operational shortly.
Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Principal Secretary, Home Department, Nagaland complimented the UIDAI team for assistance being rendered to the state. He also asked to state officials present to expedite the Aadhaar enrolment process and conduct of MBU camps so as to cover all the left out residents and children.
