Mock drill under NEPEx on April 30 at Chumoukedima and Dimapur

In preparation for the upcoming Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) 2026, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) under the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chumoukedima, has issued instructions for participation in a video conference scheduled at 11:30 a.m. on April 22 at the DC’s Conference Hall.

According to the circular, several departments and agencies have been directed to attend the video conference physically at the venue. These include all Administrative Officers, Police Department, 22 Assam Rifles, CTC, DRDA, Health & Family Welfare (CMO & MS), Fire & Emergency Services, PHED, Water Resources Department, PWD (R&B), PWD (NH), Power Department, Transport Department, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry (V&AH), Food & Civil Supplies, DIPR, and CAN Youth Organization.

In case of unavoidable circumstances, all Heads of Departments (HoDs) have been requested to nominate a senior officer to attend the programme.

Meanwhile, all other HoOs under Chumoukedima district have been instructed to attend the video conference from their respective offices to ensure full participation and coordination.

The exercise forms part of a state-wide initiative led by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority to strengthen preparedness for earthquake and extreme weather scenarios.

Officials further informed that a table-top exercise would be conducted on April 29 at the DC’s Conference Hall, followed by a full-scale mock drill under NEPEx on April 30 across various locations in the district.

All departments have been urged to ensure active participation and readiness to enhance disaster response mechanisms across Chumoukedima district.

Dimapur:

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, has issued a circular informing that the 8th edition of the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) 2026 would be conducted on April 30.

The exercise is being organized in pursuance of directives from the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, Kohima.

In preparation for the event, a virtual capacity building programme would be held on April 22 from 11:30 a.m. onwards at the Video Conference Hall, NIC, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Dimapur.

All concerned officers from line departments have been requested to attend the programme. Heads of Departments (HoDs) have been directed to participate in person or nominate a senior-level officer in case of their absence.
