The Lions Club of Dimapur, in collaboration with the District Forest Office, Dimapur Division, has launched the Lions International Environment Week from April 18 to 26, undertaking a series of plantation and awareness activities across the district.
As part of the initiative, more than 400 saplings were distributed outside St Mary’s School, while 300 saplings were distributed near Konyak Baptist Church. Nearly 100 saplings were distributed at Old Souba Junction in Niuland, and around 100 more at the Lions Centre and near SD Jain Girls College.
Continuing the programme, a tree plantation drive was organised at Livingstone Foundation International School on Wednesday.
The event was held in the presence of Lions Club President Sanjay Jaiswal, Divisional Forest Officer Beizo Suokhrie, and Deputy Ranger Kasho H Kinimi. Chairman of the school, Dr Andrew Ahoto, also attended the programme.

The Lions Club delegation included Secretary Sumit Jain and GST Coordinator Neeta Agarwal. The programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Rohit Jain.
