Adult Literacy Campaign launched at Pangti village

The Adult Literacy Campaign was formally launched at Pangti Village under RD Sanis Block on May 5 at Community Hall Pangti, marking a significant step toward empowering women through education.

Delivering a short address, EAC Sungro, Er Moasanen Imsong, congratulated the women students for their courageous decision to pursue learning, emphasizing that there is no age limit for education. He encouraged them to persevere with patience in achieving their goals and highlighted that through such literacy campaigns, individuals can discover purpose and direction in life. He expressed confidence that the initiative would empower women and bring meaningful change to Pangti Village.

Sr SDEO, Nchumbemo Jami, speaking on behalf of the Department of School Education, thanked the participants for their eagerness to learn and urged them to cooperate with their educators. He also appealed to civil society groups within the village to extend support to ensure the success of the campaign, assuring that the department would provide assistance wherever possible.

Various stakeholders also addressed the gathering, pledging their support to make the campaign a success story. Short speeches were delivered by officials from the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Wokha, and Head GB of Pangti Village, Nyimtsemo Odyuo. The welcome address was delivered by CLF Member, Renthunglo Shitiri.

The program was organized by Samyan Federation, Sanis Block, and Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission under PRI-CBO Convergence, in collaboration with Wokha District Administration, Department of Social Welfare, District Hub for Empowerment of Women under Mission Shakti (Beti Bachao Beti Padhao) and the Department of School Education.

A total of 87 women have enrolled in this adult literacy campaign.
