The Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) has expressed serious concern over recent developments and allegations relating to irregularities in the conduct of the NEET-UG examination, calling for transparency, accountability, and immediate corrective measures to restore public trust in the system.

In a statement, DNSU said NEET-UG remains one of the most important competitive examinations in the country, serving as a gateway for thousands of aspiring medical students. The union noted that for many students from Nagaland and other underrepresented regions, the examination represents years of perseverance, sacrifice, and hope for a better future.

The Union stated that any doubts cast upon the fairness and credibility of such a national-level examination not only affect individual aspirations but also undermine the confidence of the wider student community.

DNSU emphasized that examinations of such national importance must be conducted with the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and accountability. It described reports of alleged lapses and misconduct as “deeply troubling,” raising serious concerns over the credibility of the institutions entrusted with shaping the future of students.

In light of the allegations, the Union urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) and other investigative agencies to conduct a thorough, impartial, and transparent inquiry into the matter. DNSU further demanded that any individual or group found responsible be held accountable in accordance with the law.

The Union also appealed to the authorities to take immediate corrective steps to ensure that similar incidents do not recur in future examinations. Stressing the need to protect the rights and interests of genuine and hardworking students, DNSU said institutions responsible for conducting examinations must uphold fairness and responsibility, especially at a time when students are already facing immense academic pressure and uncertainty.

Reaffirming its commitment to student welfare and justice, DNSU expressed solidarity with all affected students and called for stronger safeguards to maintain the integrity of the examination process.
