2 FGN cadres apprehended in Kohima

Acting on specific intelligence on May 18 regarding movement of certain underground factions in main town area, a team of Kohima police acted swiftly and mounted discreet surveillance across the town and apprehended two persons from Razhü point area.

They have been identified as Kudukhoyi Vero (aged 38 yrs) – self-styled ‘Chaplee Finance Kilonser’ of FGN (Rhakho group); and Mulevo Khesoh (aged 35 yrs) – self-styled ‘Colonel’ of NNC/FGN (Akavi Chishi group). Both accused are residents of Phezoucha, Kohima, originally hailing from Phek district, police said.

Police also recovered incriminating documents including 14 nos of ‘yearly vehicle tax’ slips; one ‘non-local tax receipt’; three underved ‘information letters’ issued in the name of the self-styled Chaplee Finance Kilonser; two served and three unserved ‘annual commercial tax’ documents; 10 unserved ‘residency registration’ slips; and one ‘assignment order’ issued in the name of self-styled Kedahge FGN (Akavi Chishi).

Following the arrest and recoveries made, a case has been registered at North Police Station for thorough investigation of the extortion racket.

Police said that the arrested individuals are being subjected to sustained interrogation to uncover the full network, including other operatives, financiers, and potential linkages to extortion activities across other districts.

Kohima Police has appealed to all citizens and business owners to step forward and report such extortion demands without fear while assuring that their identity would be kept strictly confidential.
