Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Sunday called upon students to dedicate themselves to education and contribute towards building a developed India by 2047 while addressing the 14th felicitation programme organised by the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj.
Addressing meritorious HSLC and HSSLC students at the programme , the Governor congratulated the students for their academic achievements and appreciated the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj for promoting educational excellence among the younger generation.
He said the success achieved by the students was the result of their hard work, discipline and the continuous support of parents and teachers, adding that such achievements were not only a matter of personal pride but also pride for society as a whole.
Describing education as the foundation of progress and character-building, Yadav encouraged students to continue learning with dedication, humility and determination. He urged them to dream big, remain focused on their goals and become responsible citizens capable of contributing positively to society and nation-building.
The Governor also acknowledged the contribution of the Bhojpuri community to the social and cultural life of Nagaland, stating that such programmes strengthen unity, inspire the younger generation and promote the importance of education in society.
Referring to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, Yadav said the goal could not be achieved through slogans alone and required collective contribution from every citizen. He stressed that students also have a vital role to play by excelling in their chosen fields.
“You should study wholeheartedly and become the best engineer, doctor, lawyer, businessman or teacher in whichever field you choose. Bring new ideas and contribute towards the development of the country,” he said.
He further reminded students not to feel discouraged when parents discipline them during their studies, stating that such guidance is meant for their future well-being and success.
Calling upon the youth to work for the development of both Nagaland and the country, the Governor urged them to strive for excellence in their respective professions and help build a stronger society and nation.

Guest of Honour, BJP Nagaland treasurer, Kamal Jain encouraged students to pursue academic excellence while also nurturing love and patriotism for the country.
Congratulated the meritorious HSLC and HSSLC students and appreciating the efforts of the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj in recognising and motivating young achievers, he said receiving recognition from the Governor was a proud moment for every student.
He attributed the students’ achievements to their dedication, hard work and perseverance, while also acknowledging the role of parents and teachers in supporting them throughout their academic journey.
“There is no doubt that the students have worked very hard, staying awake late at night to study. At the same time, parents who stayed awake with them and supported them equally deserve appreciation,” he said.
Jain also lauded the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj for consistently organising the felicitation programme over the years, stating that such initiatives would continue to inspire students in the future.
Highlighting the achievements of members of the Bhojpuri community across the country, he said many have gone on to become IAS and IPS officers and expressed hope that students from Nagaland would also achieve similar success in the future.
Jain reminded students that academic success alone was not enough without values and patriotism.
On the occasion, NBS Secretary, Brij Kishore Rai highlighted the activities of Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj in the past many years. The welcome addressed was delivered by Rajeev Singh, president, NBS and vote of thanks by Anju, chairman of the programme.
Altogether 40 meritorious students from HSLC and HSSLC felicitated, which included four Toppers.
