Farewell programme held in honour of Er Kasho Chishi

The Department of Power, Nagaland, organised a farewell programme in honour of Chief Engineer (Transmission & Generation), Er. Kasho Chishi on May 29.

The programme commenced with an invocation pronounced by Superintending Engineer (Transmission), Er Moameren.

Delivering his farewell speech, Er Kasho Chishi conveyed heartfelt appreciation to all his colleagues, officers and staff for their support, cooperation, understanding and friendship throughout his service tenure. He also thanked his family, especially his wife and children, for being his pillars of strength and standing by him through every phase of his career.

Speaking on the responsibilities of the Department, Er Chishi emphasized that while the Department’s functions are highly technical in nature, it also carries significant commercial and welfare obligations. He urged officers and staff to continue serving the Department with sincerity, devotion and commitment.

Highlighting the need for modernization and reforms, he stressed the importance of keeping pace with technological advancements, improving commercial operations, reducing technical and commercial losses, and ensuring quality power supply with minimal interruptions.

On the State’s power sector, he stated that Generation, Transmission and Distribution are equally important and require continuous upgradation. He also noted that the Generation sector currently needs greater attention for capacity addition. He suggested exploring private participation, competitive bidding, MoU routes and Joint Ventures for development of generation projects.

Addressing the younger and upcoming officers, Er Chishi encouraged them to work with integrity, humility and compassion, and to preserve the Department’s reputation for hard work and discipline.

Short speeches were also delivered by President, APEN, Er Mhonlumo Kikon, who commended Er Kasho Chishi as one of the most instrumental persons during the cadre review exercise of 2002–2003 and described him as a man of impeccable credentials.

Chief Engineer (Distribution & Revenue), Er Nitovi A Wotsa, stated that Er Chishi is second to none and possesses exceptional leadership qualities.

While Engineer-in-Chief (Power), Er Wabangmeren Jamir credited Er Chishi for the growth of the Department, particularly in the Transmission and Generation sectors.

Principal Secretary, Power & Chief Minister’s Office, Dr KD Vizo, ITS, described Er Chishi as a highly capable and talented officer.

Er Chishi’s children also delivered speeches during the programme. A special number was presented by Renthungo Tungoe & party.  The thanksgiving prayer was offered by Rev Dr Hokheto Chophi, Lead Pastor, Thilixu Village Baptist Church, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Addl. Chief Engineer (Civil), Er Anthony N Dzüvichü.  The programme was chaired by Additional Chief Engineer (Distribution & Revenue), Er R Lobosang Jamir.
