The Inter-School Pre-Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2026 for Under-17 Boys and Girls, organised by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland in collaboration with the Chumoukedima District Football Association (CDFA), concluded successfully at Chumoukedima Football Stadium on May 29.
The tournament, which commenced on May 27, witnessed the participation of 21 schools from Zone-2, including 17 teams in the boys’ category and four teams in the girls’ category.
In the boys’ final, Greenwood Higher Secondary School emerged as champions after defeating King David Higher Secondary School 3-2 in a thrilling match. In the girls’ category, Government High School (GHS) Molvom secured the championship title by overcoming Living Stone Higher Secondary School 3-2 in a tie-breaker.

The tournament served as a platform for young footballers to demonstrate their talent, teamwork and sportsmanship while promoting grassroots football development among school students.
Following their outstanding performances, the four finalist teams—Greenwood Higher Secondary School, King David Higher Secondary School, GHS Molvom and Living Stone Higher Secondary School—have qualified to represent Zone-2 at the State-Level Pre-Subroto Cup Football Tournament, which will be held at IG Stadium, Kohima, next month.
