KSU, ENPUM condemn alleged sexual assault of minor in Dimapur

The Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) has condemned the alleged sexual assault and physical abuse of a minor girl in Dimapur involving O Watimeren Jamir, former President of the All-Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) and former General secretary Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), along with his alleged associate, Tsuktimongba.

The Union expressed its deep concern over the incident and expressed solidarity with the victim and her family during this difficult time.

The KSU also extended its support to the Chang Union Dimapur (CUD) and the Chang Students’ Union Dimapur (CSUD) for their firm stand in condemning the incident and demanding justice for the victim.

The Union urged the concerned authorities and law enforcement agencies to conduct a fair, impartial, and thorough investigation and to ensure that justice is delivered without delay.

The Union further called upon all sections of society to unite in safeguarding the rights and welfare of children and to stand against all forms of abuse, exploitation, and violence.

ENPUM:

The Eastern Nagaland People’s Union, Mokokchung (ENPUM) Office has condemned the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old minor girl reportedly involving O Watimeren Jamir, a resident of Lingrijan Colony, Dimapur.

Expressing deepest sympathy and solidarity with the survivor and her family, the ENPUM urged the law enforcement agencies and concerned authorities to conduct a fair, impartial, and thorough investigation and ensure that justice is delivered without delay. If found guilty, the accused must face the full force of the law, it said.

ENPUM reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of women and children and calls upon all sections of society to stand united against all forms of violence and abuse.
