Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has appointed/reassigned six Members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly as Advisors to the Chief Minister and assigned different departments with immediate effect.

The MLAs and Departments assigned to them are as follows:

Kuzholuzo Nienu — Science & Technology

Puthai Longon — Taxes

Er Picto Shohe — New & Renewable Energy

Achumbemo Kikon — SCERT & Food Processing

Nyusietho Nyuthe –NSDMA & Inland Waterways

Daochier I Imchen –Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation

According to a notification issued on June 1, 2026, the arrangement would help utilize the vast and practical experience of the MLAs for the benefit of the public at large.

The Advisors would render their advice on the matters that are referred to them by the concerned Departments for their views/suggestions before the issue is put up to the concerned Minister-in-charge for decision.

The notification clarified that the Advisors would not be eligible for any pay, salary, emoluments, remunerations or any perks/advantages of any kind, from the Government of Nagaland other than what is normally admissible to them as MLAs through the Assembly Secretariat.
