DC Kohima highlights importance of accuracy and diligence during Census training

Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B Henok Buchem, NCS visited the ongoing Census of India 2027 training programmes being conducted at three venues within the DC Office Complex, Kohima on June 10 and interacted with the enumerators and supervisors.

Addressing the trainees, Buchem described participation in the census operation as a historic responsibility and a privilege, noting that many officers had expressed interest in being part of the exercise. He said enumerators would serve as the frontline workforce in collecting vital data for the nation.

The DC assured the trainees of full support throughout the operation, emphasizing that although officers may work individually in assigned areas, they are backed by supervisors, charge officers, administrative officials, and the Directorate of Census Operations. He stressed that census work is a team effort and encouraged enumerators to seek guidance whenever they encounter challenges in the field.

Highlighting the importance of accuracy and diligence, Buchem said the data collected would directly contribute to policy formulation and development planning at both the state and national levels. He urged the enumerators to take their responsibilities seriously and ensure that the information gathered is precise and reliable.

Noting that the House Listing Operation and the Population Enumeration scheduled for next year would become part of the nation’s history, Buchem called on all personnel to perform their duties with dedication and pride. He reminded them that the success of the census depends on collective effort, stating that the district’s achievement would be measured by the performance of every member of the team.

The training programme is being conducted to equip enumerators and supervisors with the necessary knowledge and skills for the successful conduct of Census 2027 operations.
