The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has served a reminder to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, expressing serious concern over the continued delay in the registration of coaching institutes across the state despite the implementation of guidelines more than five months ago.

In a representation addressed to the Chief Secretary, ANCSU stated that it had earlier appealed to the Higher & Technical Education Department and the concerned district administrations through a press release dated February 12, 2026, to expedite the registration process and streamline the functioning of coaching institutes.

However, the Union noted with concern that not a single coaching institute has been formally registered till date, raising questions about the effectiveness of the implementation mechanism and the commitment of the authorities towards protecting the interests of students and aspirants.

ANCSU expressed strong dissatisfaction over what it termed as the “apparent inaction” of the concerned department and district administrations in addressing the issue. While acknowledging that administrative procedures may require reasonable time, the Union maintained that it could not remain a silent spectator when the welfare of students and aspirants is being neglected.

The student body stated that the prolonged delay has created uncertainty regarding the regulation and monitoring of coaching institutes, which play a significant role in preparing students for various competitive examinations and academic pursuits.

In its reminder, ANCSU urged the Chief Secretary to intervene and direct all district administrations to promptly process and forward duly verified applications submitted by coaching institutes to the State Level Committee for timely registration.

The Union expressed hope that the reminder would draw the government’s attention to the grievances of the student community and ensure that the registration process is completed without further delay.
