The National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland has vehemently condemned the brutal and inhumane killing of six Naga hostages in Manipur stating such senseless acts of violence are deeply disturbing and have no place in a civilized society.
Expressing profound grief and solidarity with the bereaved families and all those affected by this tragic incident, the NPP asserted that that violence, intimidation, and the taking of innocent lives can never bring lasting solutions or bear fruitful outcomes in the long run.
NPP Nagaland noted with deep concern that this unfortunate incident comes despite the goodwill and humanitarian gesture demonstrated by the Naga people through the release of fourteen hostages.
The party strongly appealed to all concerned groups, organizations, and communities to exercise utmost restraint and uphold peace, harmony, and mutual respect in the region.

“Retaliatory actions and counter-violence will only deepen divisions, escalate tensions, and ultimately play into the hands of those who seek to destabilize the region and sow discord among its people,” it said adding counter-actions would not bring any meaningful solution but will only perpetuate the cycle of suffering and mistrust.
NPP Nagaland further urged the concerned authorities and agencies, both at the Centre and the State, to take all necessary measures to ensure that justice is delivered in accordance with the law of the land. The party called for a thorough, impartial, and time-bound investigation into the incident, the identification and prosecution of those responsible, and appropriate action against all perpetrators stating that such timely and decisive measures are essential not only to uphold the rule of law but also to rebuild and strengthen the faith and confidence of the people in the system and its institutions.
NPP Nagaland further prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
