Former President of Seyochung Village Students’ Union, Longtili C Sangtam donated essential medicines to the Health & Wellness Centre (HWC), Seyochung on Saturday.

During his visit, Longtili appreciated the cleanliness of the centre and the dedication shown by the health staff. He expressed happiness at seeing the efforts made by the workers despite limited resources.

“I am encouraged to see such exceptional work being carried out at the centre. However, the shortage of staff is a matter of concern. I hope and believe that the higher authorities will look into this issue at the earliest,” he said.

According to the health staff, the centre recorded a total OPD attendance of 129 patients in April and 90 patients in May 2026. Antenatal Care (ANC) check-ups are being actively conducted, and Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHND) programmes are regularly organized every month, covering the catchment area.

The ANM stationed at the centre shared that managing the facility has become challenging since the Community Health Officer (CHO) went on six months of maternity leave.

“Since Seyochung is a large village, the number of visitors is quite high, especially these days. Running the centre alone is very difficult. I would like to request the concerned stakeholders to consider providing additional support staff during this period,” she said.

The ANM also thanked Longtili C Sangtam for donating the medicines, stating that they are much needed medicines at the centre. She expressed gratitude for his continued support towards the health and well-being of the community.
