In a significant initiative to strengthen and promote tourism in the district, recommended individuals from Zunheboto came together on June 27 to officially constitute the Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA), Zunheboto Unit. The meeting was held at Khonheche Cafe, Zunheboto.
The gathering deliberated on the vast tourism potential of the district and emphasized the need for a united platform to promote sustainable tourism, preserve the district’s rich cultural heritage, and create opportunities for local communities through responsible tourism initiatives.
During the meeting, members unanimously resolved to establish the district unit of the Nagaland Tourism Association with the vision of promoting eco-tourism, cultural tourism, adventure tourism, and community-based tourism while working in close coordination with the Department of Tourism and other stakeholders.
The house also nominated the office bearers for the newly formed district unit. Holoka T Sumi was nominated as President, Vino Achumi as General Secretary, Tokavi K Zhimo as Media Secretary, and Vitoka Yepthomi as Treasurer Viza Zhimomi and Kavitoli K Sumi were nominated as Programme Coordinators, Gloria Awomi, Tughuka Muru and Khekivi Awomi as executive members while Ivan Zhimomi and Tavinto Sumi were appointed as Advisors.

The newly constituted team expressed its commitment to identifying and promoting the untapped tourism potential of Zunheboto district, encouraging community participation, preserving indigenous culture and traditions, and showcasing the district as an attractive destination for both domestic and international visitors.
The members stated that the formation of the Nagaland Tourism Association, Zunheboto Unit marks a significant milestone in the district’s tourism journey and reaffirmed their collective resolve to work towards the sustainable growth and development of tourism in Zunheboto and Nagaland as a whole.
