The Northeast National Service Scheme (NSS) Festival, hosted by Arunodaya University, Arunachal Pradesh, from June 24 to 28, concluded on a grand note with enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers representing all the eight Northeastern states.
The five-day festival served as a vibrant platform for promoting unity, leadership, cultural exchange and the spirit of selfless service among young volunteers. Through a series of competitions, interactive sessions and cultural programmes, the event strengthened the ideals of national integration while providing participants with valuable learning experiences and lasting memories.
Representing Nagaland, a contingent comprising 32 NSS volunteers and Programme Officer, Sentikala from MGM College, Dimapur, participated actively in the festival. Throughout the event, the team displayed commendable discipline, teamwork and talent, earning appreciation for their spirited performances across various competitions.
The highlight of Nagaland’s participation came when the MGM College contingent secured the first position in the Folk Dance Competition. The team’s captivating performance, showcasing the rich cultural heritage, traditions and vibrant identity of Nagaland, received high praise from both the judges and fellow participants, bringing laurels to the state.

In addition to their success in the cultural arena, the volunteers also demonstrated their academic and communication skills by participating in the Quiz Competition, PowerPoint Presentation and Extempore Speech events, reflecting the all-round capabilities and confidence of the NSS team.
The impressive performance of the MGM College contingent has brought pride to both the institution and the state. Their achievements exemplify the core philosophy of the National Service Scheme—”Not Me, But You”—while highlighting the importance of youth leadership, community service, cultural preservation and national integration.
The Principal, faculty members and the entire MGM College fraternity congratulated the NSS volunteers and Programme Officer Ms. Sentikala for their outstanding achievement and for representing Nagaland with distinction at the prestigious regional festival.
