An awareness campaign on the ongoing Census House Listing (HLB) with Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) was conducted on July 8 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Chumoukedima.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Lemlila Sangtam (NCS). This was followed by addresses from Charge Officer and EAC Er. Khriengunuo Theunuo (NCS), along with Liaison Officials, who highlighted the significance of the Census exercise and the vital role of field personnel in ensuring accurate and reliable data collection.
The speakers emphasized the importance of active participation by Urban Local Bodies in supporting Census activities and urged members to create awareness among the public and extend full cooperation for the successful conduct of the Census.

During the programme, members were informed about the two phases of the Census. The first phase, House Listing, is currently underway from July 1 to July 30, while the second phase is scheduled to be conducted in February 2027.
The awareness campaign concluded with an appeal to all stakeholders and citizens to cooperate with Census officials to ensure the successful completion of the nationwide exercise.
