Jacob inaugurates PHED Division office at Niuland

Minister for PHED & Cooperation, N Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated PHED Division office at Niuland Town on July 10. The construction of newly inaugurated building begins on January 2025 at the total cost of Rs 185 lakhs, for 18 months duration which was completed within the stipulated period. This project is a vision of the department to have good infrastructure at the district headquarters to give equitable service to the citizens of every district.

In his address, Jacob congratulated the contractor, engineers and all the people involved in completing the project on time, and commented the quality of the workmanship and described the newly constructed building as one of the best government office buildings in the district.

Jacob encouraged the educated unemployed youths to engage in farming, labour work and skill development that will not only make them financially independent but will boost the economy of the district and the state. He also appealed to all the leaders to give full cooperation to any government development program in the district.

In regards to Census 2027, Zhimomi said every citizen living in Niuland Town should enroll in their respective ward or colony and not in their native villages.

Deputy Commissioner Niuland, T L Kiusumong Tikhir, in his short speech congratulated the department for successfully completing the project on time, while urging the GBs, Village Councils and Civil societies specifically the neighbouring villages of Niuland Town; Kuhoxu, Viyito and Hovishe Village to give full cooperation and support to the district administration for the progress and development of the district.

Short speeches were delivered by Vice President of Western Sumi Hoho, Kughalu Aye and Hokuto Zhimomi, GB.

Earlier, technical report & keynote address was presented by Er Vikienyu Zutsa, Superintendent Engineer (P&T), while the vote of thanks was delivered by Er Bursenla Ao, Executive Engineer, PHED Circle, Dimapur. The program was chaired by Er Nirie-e Nisa, Executive Engineer, PHED Rural Division, Dimapur.
