Chakhesang Region reaffirms support to NSCN(IM) leadership, backs Framework Agreement

The Chakhesang Region of the NSCN(IM) has reaffirmed its unwavering support to the organisation’s collective leadership and reiterated its commitment to the Framework Agreement and the core political aspirations of the Naga people.

In a statement issued by Secretary, Mhaseveo Rhakho, the Region said it solemnly reaffirmed the declaration adopted during its meeting on May 15, 2025, which unanimously expressed confidence in the collective leadership of President, Q Tuccu, Vice President, Tongmeth Wangnao, Ato Kilonser Th Muivah, and Deputy Ato Kilonser, VS Atem.

The Region stated that the collective decision and mandate adopted at the meeting remain valid, binding and representative of the will of the Chakhesang Region.

It maintained that unity, mutual trust and collective responsibility are essential to advancing the aspirations of the Naga people and affirmed its steadfast support for the Framework Agreement, while pledging to safeguard and uphold the historical and political rights of the Nagas.

Reiterating its political stand, the Chakhesang Region also expressed unequivocal support for the Naga National Flag, the Yezabo (Constitution) and the cause of Naga integration, stating that these principles embody the collective identity and aspirations of the Naga people and would continue to guide the pursuit of an honourable and inclusive political solution.

The Region further called upon all national workers, leaders and the Naga public to rise above individual differences and work together in the spirit of reconciliation, understanding and national unity.

Describing the present period as a crucial juncture in Naga history, it stressed that collective commitment and unwavering dedication to the common cause are essential to securing a future that honours the sacrifices and aspirations of the Naga people.
