The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, has issued a four-day weather advisory warning of localized thunderstorms, lightning and light to moderate rainfall across several districts of the state from July 21 to 24, urging residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.

The authority advised the public to exercise caution, particularly during periods of thunderstorm activity, lightning and localized heavy rainfall, and to stay updated through official weather forecasts and advisories.

Only July 21, localized thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall are expected over Kohima, Mokokchung, Mon, Longleng, Phek, Wokha, Zunheboto, Tseminyu and Noklak districts.

Light rainfall is also likely at a few places in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Kiphire, Meluri, Peren, Shamator and Tuensang districts.

On July 22, thunderstorm and lightning activity is expected to intensify across Dimapur, Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Niuland, Tseminyu and Zunheboto, with scattered light to moderate rainfall.

Meanwhile, Kohima, Kiphire, Noklak, Shamator and Meluri are likely to experience light rainfall at a few places.

On July 23, localized thunderstorms with lightning and scattered light rainfall are forecast over Chümoukedima, Longleng, Mon, Peren, Tseminyu, Tuensang and Zunheboto districts.

Most other districts are expected to receive only isolated light showers or experience no significant weather warnings.

On July 24, localized thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by scattered light rainfall are likely over Kohima, Longleng, Meluri, Noklak, Wokha and Tuensang districts.

Light rainfall at a few places is also expected in Dimapur, Kiphire, Niuland, Peren, Phek, Shamator, Tseminyu and Zunheboto.

The NSDMA has urged residents to remain alert during adverse weather conditions, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during thunderstorms, and follow safety advisories issued by the authorities.
