A coordination meeting for the Natural Disaster, Landslide affected area at Mon Town was convinced by District Administration headed by DC, SP, Konyak Union, Konyak Students ‘Union, Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong, with Advisor Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak at Konyak Union Office on July 22.

The Deputy Commissioner briefed on the Road blockages and the work progress for clearance of roads. He also briefed on the ongoing Search and Rescue Operation to retrieve the missing person at Landslide area at Walo Ward. He also informed that with the tireless efforts of the Power Department led by the Executive Engineer and SDO Power, the work to retrieve electricity is under progress. Line fault had been detected and clearing the fallen trees started at 66kv Nagnimora-Tizit Line, the DC added.

Advisor conveyed his sympathy to the effected family for their loss and commended the District Administration, Assam Rifles, Civil Society, DEF and all the volunteers for their tireless efforts. Advisor, Wangpang Konyak handed over Rs 2 lakhs to the Konyak Union for emergency use, while Langsa Hill Welfare Society donated Rs 5 lakh to the Landslide Affected Relief Camp.
