Deputy Commissioner, Niuland, T L Kiusumong Tikhir, conveyed a consultative meeting on preventing child labour and child exploitation in the district on July 27 at DC’s office Niuland.
While addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said the meeting was not just a symbolic but any activities that are to be followed should be impactful and fruitful. He further stated that our future rest on our children and our approach towards them should be more responsible and sensitive.
The meeting specifically deliberated on the ways and means in solving the problems of child labour in brick factories and highway hotels.

Meanwhile, the DC urged the officers concern of District Child Protection Officer and Labour department to coordinate and organise awareness programme involving all the stakeholders, for which 4th Aug 2026 has been fixed.
