Director of Census Operations calls on DC Kohima, reviews census progress

Director of Census Operations, Nagaland, Dr Kenei Miachieo, IFS, called on Deputy Commissioner & Principal Census Officer, Kohima, B Henok Buchem, NCS, at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kohima, on July 29. The meeting was attended by the Charge Officers of Kohima district.

During the meeting, Dr Kenei expressed confidence in the ongoing Census operations in the district, stating that there was no reason for inaccurate data as the officers involved were competent and committed to their responsibilities.

He also observed that the people of Nagaland are understanding and cooperative when the purpose and importance of the Census are properly explained.

Urging all government servants to contribute sincerely towards the successful conduct of the Census, he emphasized that the quality of the exercise depends on the dedication and collective efforts of every official involved.

Kenei noted that the data collected so far matched the expected figures and said that the Charge Officers would now have significant responsibilities in scrutinizing and analysing the data.

The Director also appreciated the proactive measures taken by Deputy Commissioner, B Henok Buchem in facilitating the Census operations. He particularly lauded the establishment of a dedicated helpline to address grievances and assist officials and the public during the exercise.

He remarked that the Deputy Commissioner had taken several commendable initiatives at the district level, which had eased the workload of the Directorate and effectively complemented its efforts in ensuring the smooth implementation of the Census operations.
