The Sangtam Students’ Union Tuensang Town (SSUTT) organized a two-day Skill Fest 2026 from July 30 to 31 at Sangtam Baptist Lithro, Tuensang Town, on the theme “Building Skills, Shaping Futures”. The initiatives was undertaken with the objective of equipping young people with practical skills, promoting self-reliance, and encouraging entrepreneurship among the youth.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Sangtam Lirose, General Secretary, SSUTT. The programme commenced with an invocation by Ronglikhum, Youth Pastor, SBLTT, followed by a welcome address delivered by Sichola Sangtam, President, SSUTT. An introduction to the Skill Fest was presented by Thsadila, Executive Secretary, SSUTT, highlighting the vision and objectives of the initiative.
The gathering was further enriched by a keynote address from Adekhing I Sangtam, President, USSC, while Imkonglemba Anar, Assistant Director, SIB, Tuensang, graced the occasion as the Special Guest and encouraged the participants to embrace skill development as a pathway towards sustainable livelihoods and employment.
The Skill Fest featured hands-on training in five disciplines: Embroidery, House Wiring, Crochet, Carpentry, and Music, conducted by experienced resource persons from Government ITI Tuensang and other professionals. The participants actively engaged in practical sessions, demonstrating enthusiasm, creativity, and a strong commitment to learning.

At the conclusion of the training programme, participants showcased the skills they had acquired through practical demonstrations in their respective trades. They also shared their experiences and reflections, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to learn new skills in a hands-on environment. Many participants described the programme as informative, inspiring, and confidence-building, while acknowledging that the knowledge gained would be beneficial for their personal growth, future employment, and entrepreneurial pursuits.
The Union reaffirmed its commitment to organising more youth-oriented developmental initiatives in the future for the holistic growth and empowerment of the Sangtam Community.
The inaugural session concluded with a benediction by Sentila, Women Ministry, SBLTT.
