Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Sunday participated in the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan at the National Institute of Technology Nagaland, calling upon students to become ambassadors of a drug-free society and actively support the nationwide campaign against substance abuse.

The programme was organised as part of the Government of India’s 100-week nationwide anti-drug campaign, which aims to mobilise youth, educational institutions and communities in the fight against substance abuse while contributing to the vision of a developed India.

During his visit, the Governor toured a poster exhibition featuring awareness campaigns and creative displays prepared by students under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan. Appreciating their creativity and commitment, he encouraged the students to carry the campaign beyond the campus by spreading the message of a drug-free future within their communities.

The Governor, along with faculty members, students and staff, also watched the live telecast of Narendra Modi launching the 100-week nationwide campaign. In his address, the Prime Minister urged the country’s youth to take the lead in combating drug abuse and contribute towards building a Vikshit Bharat.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manoj E. Prabhakar, Registrar of NIT Nagaland.

Faculty members, students, staff and officials of the institute reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Government of India’s anti-drug campaign and promoting a healthier, addiction-free society through sustained awareness programmes and youth-led initiatives.
