The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will organise a charity concert titled “Rhythms of Freedom – Tiranga Charity Concert” on August 15 at the NEZCC Stone Sculpture Garden, Dimapur, to raise funds for families affected by floods, landslides and other natural disasters across Nagaland.
Addressing a press conference in Dimapur, NEZCC Director Alobo Naga said the initiative was aimed at using culture and music as a means of extending solidarity and assistance to disaster-affected families.
He said Nagaland had experienced a difficult period in recent months, with landslides, flash floods and other natural disasters affecting several districts, displacing families, damaging homes, disrupting livelihoods and claiming lives.
“Behind every statistic is a family. Behind every damaged house is a dream that someone spent years building,” Naga said, stressing that artists and cultural institutions had a responsibility to stand with people during difficult times.
He said culture was more than entertainment and had historically served as a source of hope, strength and unity during periods of hardship.
The concert is being organised as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan and will carry the message of solidarity with disaster-affected communities.
“When one part of Nagaland suffers, all of Nagaland stands together,” Naga said.
The event would feature performances by several prominent artistes and groups, including Nise Meruno, Sunep Lemtur, Hentok Konyak, Colored Keys, Lenen Jamir, Kivika Achumi, Cantamus Choir, Tetso College Choir, 5 Minutes Band, Hoiying Walim, Musik-A Voice Teachers and comedian Hopong Naga, besides several surprise guests.
The NEZCC Director expressed gratitude to the participating artistes for volunteering their talent for the charitable initiative.

Adding to the programme’s emphasis on unity in diversity, various community organisations in Dimapur will also present cultural performances. These include the Marwari Samaj, Bihari Samaj, Bengali Samaj, Tibetan-Bhutia community, Nepali community, Gorkha Union, Dimasa Union, Punjabi Samaj and Muslim Council, among others.
He said the participation of different communities would showcase the spirit of “Unity in Diversity” and provide a meaningful way of marking the 80th Independence Day.
The organisers have also planned family-oriented activities, including food stalls featuring local cuisine through the Nagaland Street Food Vendors Association, beverages from Nagaland Coffee and a children’s zone by Fun Factory.
According to the organisers, the entry ticket has been priced at ₹100, with 100 per cent of the ticket proceeds earmarked for supporting families affected by natural disasters in Nagaland.
For those unable to attend the concert, a separate donation campaign has also been launched through a QR code, with details available through www.ahibi.in .
The event would be managed by Musik-A Events, with Kaki Marketing and Ahibi.in as marketing partners.
Alobo said NEZCC was also organising a series of programmes under the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan in other parts of the Northeast. At Shilpgram, Guwahati, a Tiranga Concert would be held on August 12 in association with CCRT, followed by the observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day (Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Divas) on August 14 and Independence Day celebrations with cultural programmes on August 15.
The NEZCC Director thanked the Ministry of Culture, partner organisations, sponsors, community leaders, artistes and volunteers for supporting the initiative.
He appealed to citizens to attend the Dimapur concert with their families and friends, describing every ticket as more than an entry pass.
“It will be a gesture of hope,” he said, adding that the initiative would remind disaster-affected families that they had not been forgotten.
The concert would begin at 5 p.m. on August 15 at the NEZCC Stone Sculpture Garden, Dimapur.
