Various NGOs, charitable organisations and civil society groups in Kohima visited different institutions and homes across the district on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day on August 15.

The participating organisations visited institutions catering to children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, patients and other sections of society. The Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union visited Jo Foundation, while Puliebadze Club visited Mt. Gilead Home. The Lions Club visited the State Mental Health Institute, and the Royal Club visited Bright Morning Star. Classic Club visited Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home, while Rotary Club visited Cradle Ridge. Hindu Kalyan Samiti visited the Old Age Home, and the Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch visited the District Jail, Kohima.

The Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industry visited Tabitha Enabling Academy, while the Kohima Masjid Committee visited Cherry Blossom. Nagaland Adventure Club visited Kevi Children Home, Spikes Club visited the Oncology Department at NHAK, and the Gorkha Public Panchayat visited the Leprosy Hospital at Nagabazar.

During the visits, the organisations interacted with the residents and beneficiaries of the respective institutions and extended support as part of the Independence Day observance.

The programme brought together various organisations and institutions across Kohima for the coordinated outreach to different sections of the community.
