The Fountain Club Kohima, in collaboration with the Department of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), has announced the 11th edition of the Nagaland Spelling Bee Championship 2026, tentatively scheduled for October 20 and 21 at the SCERT office, Kohima.
The state-level championship will bring together young spellers from educational institutions across Nagaland, with students from Classes 6 to 9 eligible to participate.
According to the organisers, any recognised school or educational institution in Nagaland can nominate two spellers only for the competition.
Participation forms and the terms and conditions for the championship will be available through the websites of the Fountain Club, The Morung Express and Excellogics.

The organisers said free food and lodging will be provided to participating spellers, with separate dormitory facilities for boys and girls. Accompanying teachers and parents may also avail themselves of food and lodging facilities on request, subject to nominal charges.
No travelling allowance will be provided to participants.
The championship will offer attractive cash prizes and citations to winning spellers, participants and schools. Awards will include: Champion; First Runner-up; Second Runner-up; Third Runner-up; Young Speller Award; Promising Speller Award for government school participants; and Cash prizes for all quarter-finalists
The organisers encouraged eligible students and educational institutions across the State to participate in the championship and make use of the opportunity to develop and showcase their spelling skills.
