Nagaland University and Dibrugarh University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Dibrugarh University, Assam on August 20 aimed at strengthening academic, research and institutional cooperation between the two universities.
The MoU marks an important step towards creating sustained opportunities for academic interaction, knowledge exchange and collaborative initiatives involving faculty members, researchers and students of both institutions.
Representing Nagaland University, Prof Joy Das, Finance Officer (In-charge), was present at the MoU announcement. Dibrugarh University was represented by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof Jiten Hazarika; Registrar, Dr Paramananda Sonowal; and Head, Department of Commerce, Dr Bipasha Chetiya, along with other faculty members of the Department of Commerce.
Three research scholars from the Department of Commerce, Nagaland University, who were visiting Dibrugarh University to participate in a National Seminar, were also present on the occasion, adding to the academic significance of the event.

Under the MoU, the universities would collaborate in areas including faculty, researcher and student exchange, internships and training, joint research and publications, joint academic courses, conferences and seminars, and capacity-building initiatives.
The agreement would also facilitate the sharing of academic expertise and scholarly resources and encourage collaborative activities of mutual interest.
The MoU provides a framework for specific initiatives to be undertaken through mutually agreed project plans or separate implementation agreements, subject to the approval of the competent authorities and applicable institutional regulations. The agreement will remain in force for five years.
