The search operation for the 15-year-old boy from Noklak who was reportedly swept away by a flash flood in the Lein River on August 20 has been officially called off after five days of extensive search efforts.

According to reports, a thorough search was conducted along the Lein River, and the boy’s body is believed to have been carried downstream towards the Zunki River. However, family members and well-wishers will continue their efforts to locate the missing boy under the close observation of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

The tragic incident occurred on August 20, when the boy reportedly went to the river with his friends, according to local sources. He was subsequently swept away by the flash flood and could not be located despite immediate search efforts.

The five-day search operation was jointly conducted by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Village Guards (VG), Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES), Police personnel, local villagers, and members of the public.

Despite the coordinated efforts and extensive searches carried out throughout the day, the body of the missing minor could not be recovered.

The search operation has now been officially called off, while efforts by family members and well-wishers to locate the missing boy are expected to continue with the monitoring and support of the DDMA.
