The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has issued an official circular announcing its yearly Dog Registration cum Vaccination Drive for the year 2026–2027.
ADC & Chief Executive Officer of the MMC, Atsungba Walling stated that the drive will take place within the municipality on September 2 and 3. The exercise is being organized in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and the Animal Welfare Union Mokokchung (AWUM).
The MMC has released a set of mandatory guidelines and a detailed schedule for all concerned wards to ensure a smooth operation. The registration renewal and vaccination exercise would begin at 8 a.m., and all respective wards must arrange the necessary facilities to host the vaccination teams. Each ward must assign two volunteers to assist the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services team, while the respective ward chairman is authorized to sign the registration cards for renewal.

Wards that submitted their dog tags after registration last year must collect them, while the wards that did not submit their tags may continue using the ones they have. Wards needing replacement tags for lost ones must submit a detailed list to the office by August 27, 2026. Registration cards must be collected from the MMC office during working hours on August 27, 2026.
Fees for new registration, renewals, vaccinations, and utilization charges will remain unchanged.
The two-day drive will be split across different wards as follows: On September 2, the drive would cover – Salangtem, Alempang, Alongmen, Sangtemla, Tongdentsuyong, Arkong, Penli, Dilong, and Sungkomen ward. On September 2, it would cover Yimyu, Lijaba Lijen, Mongsenbai, Kumlong, Kichutip, Aongza, Marepkong, Majakong, and Artang ward.
