A Special Awareness and Sensitization Programme for industrial units in Chumukedima under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) was held at the Conference Hall of Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, on August 28, 2026.

The programme was organised by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Dimapur, in association with the Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB), with the objective of creating awareness among industrial units on air pollution, environmental protection and the importance of complying with prescribed environmental norms.

Functional Manager, DIC, Dimapur, N Abeno Lotha chaired the programme. In his keynote address, Jethro Mesen highlighted the importance of responsible industrial practices and collective efforts towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

Scientist ‘B’, NPCB, Yanathung Kithan, delivered a presentation on “Ambient Air Quality and Its Impact” highlighting the sources and effects of air pollution and the need for effective measures to control it.

Senior Environmental Engineer, NPCB, Aghali A Swu, spoke on “Environmental Compliance of Industries”, sensitising participants on the importance of adhering to environmental regulations and adopting environmentally sustainable practices in industrial activities.

In his concluding remarks, Functional Manager, DIC, Dimapur, Kiyelu T Yeptho, emphasised the need for continued cooperation between industries and regulatory authorities to ensure sustainable industrial development and a cleaner environment.
