Changtongya Town Baptist Church (CTBA) organized a special revival programme from September 11 to 13 where hundreds of believers were blessed and rededicated their lives to Christ.
The revival programme gained a special mention in the Church’s calendar year since it commemorates the fiftieth anniversary since the revival fire ignited in Changtongya town way back in 1976. The Christian ‘revival’ of the late seventies is a memorable milestone is Nagaland’s religious history since it marked a turning point where revival programmes were held with much fervor and the Holy Spirit moved the believers to perform miracles and accepted Christ with renewed faith.
Changtongya Town Baptist Arogo was one of the first Churches where the rival fire ignited.
The 50th anniversary commemorative revival was held on the theme based on Psalms 85:6 “Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?” with Dr Chujang Aier, President, International Evangelistic Fellowship (IEF) as the main speaker throughout the programme. He was assisted by a team of dedicated counsellors from different churches.

During the programme, life testimonies were delivered by different believers who testified the life changing power of Jesus Christ and rejuvenated the spirits of the congregation. Prominently, Asangla Luen, the daughter of Rev MI Luen, former pastor of CTBA and one of the pioneers of the Nagaland Revival movement, also testified about the power of the Holy Spirit. She also presented a memento memorializing the early revival movement days (1970s), to the CTBA.
A healing service was also on the last day after the devotional service which was conducted by Sashi Kichu, the Pastor of Mongsenyimti Compound Baptist Church.
During the healing programme, many ill and weary people, both from Changtongya town and outside, and even those who joined live through online streaming, were prayed for by the Healing team. Those who needed healing, both physically and spiritually, approached the Prayer warriors and sought the healing powers of Christ and were blessed.
