The 2nd Nagaland Masters Table Tennis Championship 2026 was held at the Multipurpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung, bringing together veteran table tennis players for a competitive celebration of the sport.
The championship was organised by the Mokokchung Masters Table Tennis Association (MMTTA). Day-I of the championship saw Rev Visasier Kevichusa, Senior Pastor of Kingdom Culture Church, Dimapur, offered the invocation, followed by a welcome address from Watitoshi Ao, President of MMTTA.
Sozenla Imchen presented a special number during the programme. The inaugural session also featured an address by the Special Guest, N Akok Longkumer, President of the NPF Central Youth Wing, who encouraged the participating players to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and make the championship a platform for healthy competition and camaraderie. The Technical Committee administered the oath-taking and briefed the participants on the tournament proceedings before the formal commencement of the championship.
The closing ceremony programme was held on September 11 at the Multipurpose Sports Complex. Tinu Pongen, President, BJP Mandal, 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency, attended as its special guest. Master Maongkar enthralled the audience with an uplifting performance.
Around 60 40+, 50+ & 60+ aged players participated in the championship. The participating districts were Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Kiphire, Chumoukedima and Wokha.
The tournament witnessed strong performances in both the men’s and women’s sections, with players displaying skill, experience and competitive spirit.

The results reflect the strong participation and competitive performances across the different categories, with Visasier emerging as a standout performer in the men’s events, securing first place in both the 40+ and 50+ Men’s Singles categories as well as the 50+ Men’s Doubles title.
The tournament also saw Dimapur claim top honours in both the 40+ and 50+.
