The District Industries Centre (DIC) Dimapur, Department of Industries & Commerce Government of Nagaland, organised a one-day capacity building workshop on one district one product, (ODOB) at City Centre Medziphema, Chumoukedima on September 16.
Delivering the keynote address, General Manager, DIC Dimapur, Chikutoh Nyusou highlighted the importance of the workshop entrepreneurship, MSME developments and the objectives of the ODOP initiatives. He also spoke on the importance of pineapple cultivation in Medziphema and highlighted that pineapple is an important horticulture crop and a source of livelihood for many farmers.
He emphasized on scientific and improved cultivation practices, on sustainable pineapple farming, on post-harvest management and reducing wastage marketing and collective participation. The speaker explained that the workshop has been organised to equip pineapple growers with knowledge and practical skills, address challenges faced in cultivation and marketing, and create awareness about opportunities under ODOP initiatives.
He also encouraged all pineapple growers to actively participate in the workshops and work together to make pineapple cultivation a sustainable and profitable source for all farming communities. The speaker expressed his gratitude to all the pineapple growers for attending the program.

During the interaction with the technical expert, Zakietsono Jamir, Founder Coffee Lady shared practical insights from her experience. She also highlighted the importance of understanding the quality of coffee, proper processing, packaging, branding and marketing in creating a sustainable business. She emphasised that locally available agriculture resources can be transformed into marketable products, thereby creating additional income and employment opportunities.
The workshop further featured a session on introduction to the ODOP initiative followed by a presentation on pineapple processing: Value Addition and Enterprise Development delivered by Kiyelu T Yeptho.
The session was held on capacity building under Make in Nagaland Financial Analyst, RAMP. The session concerned Digital Business Development, Operational Management for Business Success. Participants were encouraged to make use of digital platforms and tools for business promotion, customer outreach and market expansion.
The workshop concluded with an interactive session and concluding remarks by Jethro Mesen Functional Manager, DIC Dimapur.
The workshop was attended by 78 pineapple growers from villages like Razaphema, Molovom, Maova, Medziphema, Zhuikhu, Bungsang, Socunoma and Tsiepama. The program was chaired by Lika, Project Associate RAMP. Introduction to RAMP Nagaland was delivered by Pikali Zhimo.
