Chief Electoral officer informs on Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls

As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Roll (Phase -111), rationalization of Polling Stations was carried out in all 60 Assembly Constituencies in the State, Chief Electoral Officer informed.

Based on the House-to-House enumeration by the BLOs, as mandated by the Election Commission of India, all Polling Stations having more than 1200 electors were identified for rationalization.

Based on the recommendations of the District Election Officers, in consultation with political parties, 38 (thirty-eight) new Polling Stations were created with approval of the Election Commission of India and there are now 2399 Polling Stations in the State.
