C/173 Bn CRPF, DEF Camp, Mokokchung organized a Civic Action Programme at its company Headquarters, DEF camp, Chuchuyimpang, Mokokchung on September 21. As part of the programme, water storage tanks were distributed to various schools, a church and needy residents of Chuchuyimpang & Khensa villages.

The beneficiaries included Government Middle School, Government Primary School Chuchuyimpang, DEF police Church, Government Primary School Amenyong, Khensa , Youth club and needy people of Chuchuyimpang village residing near the camp of C/173 Bn.

Speaking on the occasion, P Nilakanta Singh, Assistant Commandant and Company Commander of C/173 BN CRPF, highlighted the importance of the Civic Action Programme undertaken by the CRPF every year. He told that such initiatives provide essential items and support to needy communities and educational institutions, thereby contributing to their day to day welfare.

He further emphasized that such programmes play an important role in strengthening mutual trust and bridging the gap between the Security Forces and the local population.

The programme commenced with the blessings of invocation prayer by the Pastor Temjen Jamir (DEF Police Church). Temsuchuba Jamir, SDO, Mokokchung, graced the occasion as the chief guest while Subash Arambam, Assistant Director of Printing & Stationery, Mokokchung, as the Guest of Honour.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest appreciated the role of the CRPF in maintaining internal security and acknowledged the importance of such people-friendly initiatives in fostering a positive relationship between the Security Forces and the local community.

T Imlisunep Ao sincerely expressed his gratitude to CRPF for organizing the programme for the benefits of the local community. Head Master of Government Primary School, Chuchuyimpang, Head Master of Government Middle School, Mokokchung, Teacher of Government Primary School Amenyong, Khensa , Sarpanch of Khensa village were also present in the occasion.

Villagers, Church members and residents from surrounding areas of DEF Camp, Mokokchung, expressed their appreciation and thanked CRPF for the initiative. The beneficiaries expressed their happiness and gratitude for receiving the water storage tanks, which will provide meaningful support to their daily needs.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by P Nilakanta Singh, Assistant Commandant.
