A training programme on post-draft publication activities under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls, 2026, was held for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of 4-Ghaspani-I and 5-Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituencies at the DPDB Hall, DC’s Office, Chumoukedima, on September 24.

The programme was conducted under the supervision of the Additional Deputy Commissioner & Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Chumoukedima, Lemlila Sangtam, NCS.

Addressing the BLOs, she noted that the electoral population under both constituencies was substantial and underlined the responsibility, this placed on EROs and AEROs in overseeing the process. She urged the BLOs to remain focused over the coming 30 days and to work collectively in identifying anomalies in the electoral rolls, calling for a detailed and methodical approach to the task.

She further stated that the BLOs occupied a crucial position in the exercise and needed to work efficiently and resolve anomaly-related cases without delay, since the success of the revision process depended directly on their performance as the main link between individual voters and the wider election machinery.

She also directed BLOs to correct structural back-end errors, including cases where a voter’s mapped residence or section number did not correspond to their actual physical location.

The training was aimed at familiarising BLOs with their procedures and responsibilities during the Claims and Objections period, running from September 20 to November 18, covering field-level verification, issuance of notices, handling of claims and objections, and other related activities. A total of 127 BLOs from 4 Ghaspani-I and 54 BLOs from 5 Ghaspani-II took part in the training.
