Central PDNA visits Mokokchung

As part of the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) undertaken in the state, the central PDNA team from MHA, NDMA visited the Mokokchung District on October 7 and held a meeting with the line departments officials at DC’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung.

The visit aimed to assist the concerned line departments in compilation and assessment of the PDNA in the district.

Lead consultant (Coordinator NRCC), NDMA, Shashank Mishra appraised the line department officials that a proper record of damage is necessary in recovery and reconstruction process, therefore, he requested the officials to record the severity of the disaster in order to calculate the extent of the damage it caused.

Mokokchung District Disaster Management Authority delivered the video presentation on the damages caused by the recent monsoon disaster that affected many lives and properties across the district.

The meeting was followed by a group discussion with all sector experts along with the relevant line departments. The compiled reports of the damaged or loss assessment records were then presented to the Central PDNA team.

The Central PDNA visiting team comprised of various sector experts including Lead Consultant (Coordinator NRCC), NDMA, Shashank Mishra, Senior Consultant, NDMA, Chandani PC Senan, Assistant Professor, NIDM, Dr Gagandeep Singh, Indranil Bose, CBRI Roorkee, Scientist Mickey Mecon Dalbehera, Assistant Professor, NIDM, Rohit Kumar and CP Mohan.

The Central PDNA team later visited the Penli ward, Mokokchung where two people lost their lives due to the landslide that occurred on July 29, 2026.
