Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, organised its annual Melange Festival from October 8 to 9 on the theme “Renaissance”, bringing together students for a range of creative, literary, musical and intellectual competitions.
The two-day festival aimed to celebrate creativity and innovation while exploring the relevance of rebirth and artistic expression in an era increasingly shaped by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The inaugural programme on October 8 featured an address by Dr Akumjungla, Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy, who presented the concept note for the festival. She traced the historical background of the term “Renaissance” and highlighted how the ideas of renewal, creativity and rediscovery remained relevant amid rapid technological advancement and the growing influence of AI.
The first day featured competitions in solo performance, blackout poetry, hackathon, painting and sketching, food craft, prepared speech and dance.

The festival concluded with the declaration of results and distribution of prizes, with the prize money sponsored by the college’s teaching staff. An informal interactive session titled “Melange Unscripted” also formed part of the concluding programme.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, various departments set up stalls offering food and games, while the FAC Fine Arts Club displayed and sold handicrafts and art pieces throughout the two days.
