The NSCN (IM) has condemned reported drone attacks on the residence of NSCN-K (Yung Aung) Brigadier Akham Konyak at Langkho village on October 3 and Mt. Horeb Camp in Myanmar’s Naga Self-Administered Zone on October 11, calling for an impartial investigation into the incidents.
In a statement issued through its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the NSCN (IM) alleged that the October 3 attack resulted in the deaths of two civilians, while approximately 60 explosive devices were reportedly dropped during the early-morning attack on Mt. Horeb Camp on October 11.
Describing the reported attacks as indiscriminate and disproportionate, the NSCN (IM) said the use of such methods could not be justified on political, military or ideological grounds when civilian lives were at risk.
The NSCN (IM) expressed solidarity with Naga people across political and geographical boundaries, irrespective of their political affiliations. It called on all concerned parties, regional stakeholders and international observers to ensure a transparent, impartial and credible investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incidents and identify those responsible.

Calls for dialogue, rejects allegations
It maintained that lasting peace in the region could not be achieved through the destruction of camps or the political marginalisation of the Naga people. “Dialogue, rather than the use of drones, must remain the primary instrument for the resolution of differences,” it stressed.
The statement also categorically denied allegations circulating after the reported drone strike on Mt. Horeb Camp, asserting that the NSCN/GPRN had no direct or indirect role in planning, authorising or executing the attack.
It further claimed that no personnel, equipment or aerial assets under its command or control had been deployed near the location on the date of the incident. The organisation rejected any claims suggesting its involvement as unfounded and misleading.
