The Tikhir Baptist Biti Atukhianti (TBBA) Peace Mission Team convened a reconciliation meeting at the conference hall of Tikhir Baptist Church, Kiphire Town, on October 20 to resolve internal community disputes and misunderstandings over tribal leadership.
The meeting was chaired by M Tsulimthong, president of TBBA and convenor of the Peace Mission Team. It was attended by two teams led by P Timong and RT Kius, along with their respective members.
During the meeting, both sides discussed various disputes and misunderstandings concerning tribal leadership and agreed to work towards restoring peace, unity and cooperation within the community, guided by Christian principles of respect, love and collective welfare.
According to the meeting minutes, RT Kius and his team agreed to work with and extend their fullest cooperation to the Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC) led by P Timong.
The meeting further resolved that all previous issues and actions at the tribal and organisational levels, including suspensions, expulsions, FIRs, citizen disownment, non-cooperation, petitions before the High Court and other related disputes, would be declared “null and void” and withdrawn with immediate effect.
It was also resolved that any organisation or council attempting to enforce previous orders or take unilateral action, individually or collectively, against any member would be considered to be acting contrary to the reconciliation agreement.

The meeting further stated that any individual or group attempting to create division within the tribe would face stern action individually, without affecting the village or organisation concerned.
Statements circulated on social media or public platforms with the intention of defaming, misleading or creating divisions were also prohibited, with members urged to maintain peace and harmony.
The reconciliation minutes were signed by P Timong, N Yantsuthong and T Tsuthong on behalf of the team led by Timong, and RT Kius, S Moa Tikhir and T Wongsuthong on behalf of the team led by Kius.
Following the reconciliation meeting, a prayer programme was held on October 21 at TIC headquarters, Kiusam. The programme was chaired by M Tsulimthong, while short speeches were delivered by TTC president P Timong and RT Kius. A thanksgiving prayer was offered by Rev M Shiuto, executive secretary of TBBA.
Representatives of frontal organisations, Gaon Buras (GBs) from all Tikhir villages and members of both sides attended the programme.
