The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) held a consultative meeting on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Zunheboto, led by AICC Observer Pranav Shagotra, NPCC General Secretary Yanchamo Ovung and Zunheboto District Congress Committee (DCC) President Vikato Zhimo.
The meeting was attended by senior Congress leaders, party officials and workers and focused on the SIR process and the need to safeguard the democratic rights of every eligible voter.
Discussions emphasised transparency, accountability and proper verification during the revision of electoral rolls to ensure that no genuine voter was unfairly excluded from the electoral process.
Addressing the gathering, Shagotra highlighted the campaign led by Rahul Gandhi against alleged “Vote Chori”, raising concerns about electoral transparency and the functioning of the Election Commission of India under Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
He stressed that protecting the integrity of elections was essential to maintaining public confidence in democratic institutions.
Shagotra said every eligible citizen must be able to exercise the constitutional right to vote without fear, discrimination or unnecessary obstacles. He called on Congress leaders and party workers to remain vigilant throughout the SIR process, create public awareness and assist eligible voters in ensuring that their names remained on the electoral rolls.

The meeting reaffirmed the Nagaland Congress’s commitment to the “Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao” campaign and to protecting the voting rights of every eligible citizen.
