Congress Party on Thursday accused BJP of using NDPP to enter Nagaland with the intention to do away with the special status and implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state.

At a press conference held at Dimapur, Sujata Paul, AICC media coordinator, alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party “clearly intends to weaken and wipe out NDPP”. She made a comparison of how the BJP formed government in Jammu & Kashmir in alliance with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and took away the special status of the state.

“In Nagaland, they have piggy backed on NDPP and crept in,” the Congress stated.
