In a latest turn of events, Kyupise Sangtam, Independent candidate from 59th Seyochung-Sitimi Assembly Constituency withdrew his candidature on Friday.
Kyupise announced the change in his plans in a written message which was posted on social media. He also added that he and his followers have “unanimously resolved” to support V. Kashiho Sangtam, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate of the constituency.
Kashiho in reply tweeted that he was “honoured” and that the merger of the two camps will make an “unshakable team”.
I am indeed honoured & I extent my warm welcome to @KyupiseSangtam ji, one of the most promising @BJP4India karyakarta, for merging with my camp to forge an unshakable team.
