The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DC & DEO), Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS and the Superintendent of Police, Aotula T. Imchen, IPS held a consultative meeting with Village Council chairmen and council members of NYIRO Range on Tuesday to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the forthcoming 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election 2023, a DIPR report stated. The meeting was conducted at Yanthamo village in Wokha district.
The NYIRO Range in Wokha comprises of 9 villages namely, Yanthamo, Yimkha, Longla, Longidang, Rezumyan, Niroyo, Longsachung, Tsantsupen and Okheyan village.

During the meeting. the DC and SP appealed to the village leaders to educate the public in their respective villages not to indulge in any election-related violence. They reminded the village council members of their roles and responsibilities to ensure that no untoward incident happens.
The village functionaries assured their fullest cooperation and to abide by the rules and regulations of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election, the report said.

Wokha: DC holds coordination meeting with Longsa village and Wokha village
DC & DEO has recently conducted similar coordination meeting with village leaders of Chukitong Range, Longsa, and Wokha village, to contain the law and order situation in the district and for the smooth conduct of the election.
